First College Football Playoff Rankings of 2018 Released

College Football Playoff National Championship

The College Football Playoff Selection Committee has released its first rankings for the 2018 season. The selection committee consists of 13 members who ranked the top 25 teams in the country through the first nine weeks of the season. They will continue to release a top 25 each week for the next 5 weeks, culminating in the final selection on Dec. 2.

Alabama sits at the No.1 spot, followed by Clemson, LSU and Notre Dame to fill out the top four. 

The College Football Playoff National Championship takes place on January 7, 2019 at Levi's Stadium.

On Dec. 2 the selection committee will announce the final rankings and the four teams that will participate in the Playoff Semifinal games.
